Blind Fabric Certifications

Blind Fabric Certifications for Safer Window Covering Programs

UNITEC supports importers, distributors, finished blind manufacturers and project buyers with certification documents, test reports and technical information for selected window covering fabric references. This page explains how certification support helps reduce sourcing risk before a fabric is approved for a market, collection or project.

Blinds Fabrics Manufacturer & Supplier Certificates

Certification Overview

Documentation That Helps Buyers Confirm Fabric Suitability

Blind fabric certifications help professional buyers review chemical safety, indoor air quality, flame performance and special finishing requirements before confirming a collection or project. UNITEC provides original certificates and test documentation upon request, based on the selected product reference and applicable document scope.

UNITEC blind fabric certifications including SGS, OEKO-TEX and GREENGUARD
01

OEKO-TEX Standard 100

Supports buyer evaluation of textile articles tested for harmful substances under the applicable OEKO-TEX requirements. Certificate scope and validity should be confirmed before use in customer documentation.

02

GREENGUARD / GREENGUARD Gold

Supports indoor air quality evaluation by addressing low chemical emissions from applicable indoor products. The exact certified article, construction and certification level should be checked against the original document.

03

SGS Test Reports

SGS reports help buyers confirm results for submitted samples tested against stated methods. Reports should be reviewed by product code, sample identification, test date and result scope.

04

Flame-Retardant Testing

Selected flame-retardant fabric references can be supported with test documentation such as NFPA 701, BS 5867 or CAN/ULC-S109-2014(R2019), depending on the product and project requirement.

05

Prop 65 & DBDPE Review

For selected products, UNITEC can provide third-party chemical test documentation to support customer review of California Proposition 65 or DBDPE-related requirements.

06

Antibacterial & Antifungal Reports

Selected fabrics may be supported with antibacterial or antifungal test reports, including testing involving Aspergillus niger where applicable. Results apply to the tested sample and stated method.

Important: Original certificates and test reports are available upon request. The applicable scope should always be confirmed by fabric reference, colour, composition, coating or finishing process, test method, issuing body and validity period.

Buyer Review Framework

What Each Certificate Helps Buyers Confirm

For importers, distributors and finished blind manufacturers, blind fabric certifications are most useful when the document matches the selected product reference, colour, construction, coating or finishing process, and intended application. The following framework explains how each type of certificate or test report normally supports a sourcing decision.

Document Type What It Helps Confirm What Buyers Should Check Careful Claiming
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Supports review of textile articles tested for harmful substances under the applicable OEKO-TEX requirements. Certificate scope, validity period, product class, article description and whether the selected fabric reference is covered. Do not describe the fabric as chemical-free or use the certificate as a universal safety guarantee.
GREENGUARD / GREENGUARD Gold Supports indoor air quality review by addressing low chemical emissions from applicable indoor products. Certified article, construction, certification level, current document status and whether the requested product is included. Do not claim zero VOC, non-toxic or suitability for every school, healthcare or project use without checking scope.
SGS Test Reports Provides third-party test results for a submitted sample under the stated test method. Report number, sample identification, test date, tested standard, result and product reference. Original reports are available upon request. Use SGS tested or SGS report available when appropriate. Avoid calling every test report an SGS certification.
Flame-Retardant Test Reports Helps buyers review flame performance under specific methods such as NFPA 701, BS 5867 or CAN/ULC-S109-2014(R2019). Fabric code, construction, colour, FR finishing, conditioning, test method and whether the report applies to fabric or finished curtain configuration. Do not describe fabrics as fireproof. A test report should not be applied to a different fabric, colour, finish or completed assembly without confirmation.
Prop 65 / DBDPE Review Supports customer compliance review for selected chemical or restricted-substance requirements. Analytes tested, detection limits, sample identity, product configuration and whether the report applies to the selected reference. California Proposition 65 is not a product certification. Avoid saying Prop 65 certified or no warning required unless legally confirmed.
Antibacterial / Antifungal Reports Supports review of special finishing performance under stated laboratory test conditions, including tests involving Aspergillus niger where applicable. Test method, organism tested, result, tested sample, treatment condition and any durability or cleaning limitation stated in the report. Do not make medical, infection-prevention or universal anti-mould claims unless the exact report and application fully support them.
Practical sourcing note: UNITEC can help buyers match the correct certificate, SGS test report, TDS and sample information to the fabric reference being evaluated, so the customer’s compliance team can review the documentation before market launch, tender submission or project approval.

Document Request Process

How UNITEC Supports Certification Review Before Ordering

Certification review should be connected to a real fabric selection. UNITEC helps buyers confirm the product reference first, then provides the relevant technical data, certificate or SGS test report for internal review, customer approval or project documentation.

01

Confirm the Product Reference

Share the fabric category, product code, colour, width, application and target market so UNITEC can identify the correct reference for review.

02

Review TDS and Sample Information

UNITEC can provide product information such as composition, width, weight, thickness, construction, finishing and sample availability where applicable.

03

Match the Required Document

Based on the selected reference, UNITEC can help check available OEKO-TEX, GREENGUARD, SGS, FR, Prop 65 or special finishing documentation.

04

Support Final Buyer Review

Original certificates or test reports are available upon request for customer compliance teams, project contractors or distributor documentation review.

Important for professional buyers: A certificate, test report or technical data sheet should not be separated from the actual product reference. Before using any document for customer approval, tender submission or market launch, confirm that the document scope matches the selected fabric, colour, coating, finishing and intended application.

Common Buyer Questions

Questions Buyers Ask About Blind Fabric Certifications

Certification documents are important, but they should be used correctly. These answers help importers, distributors, finished blind manufacturers and project buyers understand how UNITEC supports document review before product approval.

Are blind fabric certifications available for all UNITEC products?

UNITEC can provide certification support for its window covering fabric programs, including OEKO-TEX, GREENGUARD, GREENGUARD Gold and SGS documentation where applicable. The exact document should be confirmed against the selected product reference before use.

Can UNITEC provide original SGS test reports?

Yes. Original SGS test reports are available upon request for relevant product references. Buyers should provide the product code, colour, application and required test direction so UNITEC can check the correct report.

Are certificates available for public download?

No. UNITEC does not publish all original certificates or test reports for direct public download. For commercial and document-control reasons, original certificates are provided upon request after the product reference and requirement are confirmed.

Can one certificate apply to another fabric?

Not automatically. A certificate or test report may be limited by product code, sample, colour, construction, coating, finishing process or test method. Buyers should not apply one report to another fabric without confirmation.

Can UNITEC support flame-retardant fabric requirements?

Yes. Selected fabric programs can support flame-retardant review, including standards such as NFPA 701, BS 5867 or CAN/ULC-S109-2014(R2019), depending on the fabric reference, finishing and project requirement.

What information should buyers provide before requesting documents?

Buyers should share the fabric category, product code, colour, width, intended application, target market and required standard. This allows UNITEC to check the most relevant certificate, TDS, SGS report or sample support.
